| The Central Statistics Office or Ireland are looking for part time interviewers - working from home. Personal Specification 1. Essential Requirements To be eligible for consideration candidates must: (a) have proven experience of personal interaction with the public through face to face interviewing, practical social work or related work; (b) be available to work flexible hours. This flexibility extends to working variable hours during evenings, Saturdays and some daytime work when potential respondents are at home; (c) have a reasonable standard of education, minimum standard of intermediate certificate or equivalent and be capable of understanding and implementing detailed instructions; (d) have the personal qualities of tact, consideration and patience necessary to secure the confidence and co-operation of the public. This would also include appropriate personal presentation; (e) have a reasonable standard of physical fitness as the work may involve a considerable amount of walking and/or climbing stairs; (f) hold a current full clean driving licence and have the full use of a car for the hours spent working on the survey; (g) have direct access by telephone; (h) have the ability to provide concise and relevant information; (i) have good communication/articulation skills together with good persuasion skills; (j) be a self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative and ability to meet tight deadlines; (k) be enthusiastic about the job and have given some thought about how potential difficulties might be overcome; (l) have a clear understanding of the work of the CSO; (m) have keyboard skills and/or some familiarity with computers.
