You will be responsible for production database configuration, monitoring & backup and will participate in the on-call rotation. Ideally you should have at least 1 year of Oracle DBA experience, preferably from a UNIX environment, and experience in using RMAN, DataGuard & Database auditing experience would also be beneficial. The DBA should also be enthusiastic about working in an agile development environment with close and continuous contact with developers. Excellent knowledge of Oracle performance tuning (especially in Oracle 10g) is critical. Responsibilities would include providing technical input to the supervision of insurance and reinsurance companies, provision of technical advice, evaluation of actuarial aspects of returns from companies, participation in visits to companies, participation in development of policy both generally and in EU fora. These positions will suit ambitious actuaries interested in making a significant contribution to the future development of the regulation of financial services in Ireland, which is an increasingly important area of professional activity.
